North Trinity Church
North Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church was built in 1893 by immigrants of Swedish and Norwegian decent. The grant allowed the church steeple to be re-shingled and the steeple scraped, primed and painted. Each year a “remembrance” services held in mid-June. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ringing the church bell at North Trinity is a long-standing tradition since 1970. At 6pm Christmas Eve families gather at the church to ring the bell and send greetings to former parishioners. While someone rings the bell, others use their cell phones to call former members. The event has even made the New York Times!
